ABAC School of Music student won the First Prize “ETC Cover Challenge”

Tanyathorn Nantasen (Pompom), a student from Department of Music Entrepreneurship, Louis Nobiron School of Music, was announced to be the winner of the cover challenge from the renowned band ETC. The band under the record label, Muzik Move Records released the campaign for online singers to join the challenge by recording the video singing the band’s latest million views song “ความจริงเป็นสิ่งที่ตาย” (Truth is mortal)

The award was announced on 5^th August 2021 and named Tanyathorn the winner with the reward of 10,000 Baht. The band members led by the singer, Neung Apiwat praised Tanyathorn for the beautiful voice and balance she conducted throughout the song.

AU Student Golfer Achieves the 2nd Runner Up in Chang Junior Golf Classic 2021

Congratulations to Mr. Thanakrit Phenkoksung, AU freshmen from Theodore Maria School of Arts for winning the third-place winner in the Special Class Boy of Chang Junior Golf Classic 2021. The event was taken place at Lake View Resort & Golf Club in Phetchaburi for 2 days. Mr. Thanakrit obtained a triple bogey (T3. 74-73 = 147) in 2 days, conquering the third-place winner. His scores seconded the first-place and the second-place winners only for 1 stroke and the competition had to conclude with the play off.

AU Student Golfer Achieves "Golf Championship" in Chang Junior Golf Championship 2021

Congratulations to Ms. Pimpaporn Thipcharoen, AU Freshman student from Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics (MSME), for securing the Winner Class SG of Chang Junior Golf Championship 2021 at Lake View Resort & Golf Club Phetchaburi.
Ms. Thipcharoen has completed the high school level from New Zealand. After returning to Thailand, she enrolled in the new MSME program, entitled Business Design and Digital Innovation (DDI) and joined the AU Golf Club. She intends to continue improving her golf skills, becoming a valuable asset of the team for future competitions.

AU Community Received Tung Pan Num Jai 

Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President of Assumption University of Thailand (AU), was the representative to offer a number of CGA Bags of Kindness or Tung Pan Num Jai, containing food and other necessities, to AU supporting staff in order to lessen their difficulties during the COVID-19 pandemic on September 24, 2021 at Seminar Room, de Montfort Hall, Hua Mak Campus.

On September 27, 2021. Rev. Bro. Dr. Amnuay Yoonprayong, Vice President for Moral Development Education of Assumption University, was the representative to give Tug Pan Num Jai to AU supporting staff at Suvarnabhumi Campus.

This project was organized by the Confederation of St. Gabriel's Alumni Association of Thailand (CGA) with an aim to support those suffered from the COVID-19 epidemic in Thailand. The CGA bags have been delivered to 14 Alumni communities of Saint Gabriel Foundation Thailand for further distribution.

On-site Visit of Community Enterprises who participated in the OPOAI-C project at Ratchaburi province

School of Biotechnology Achievement in The project “One Province One Agro-Industrial Community or OPOAI-C” and on 5 October we have visited 4 Community Enterprises who participated in the OPOAI-C project at Ratchaburi province. The first stop was at Community Enterprise of Safe Fruit Production at Ban Rang Si Mok, Dumnern Saduak subdistrict (วิสาหกิจชุมชนผลิตผลไม้ปลอดภัยบ้านรางสีหมอก), the second was at Community Enterprise of Turkey Farmers at Ratchaburi, Pak Thor subdistrict (วิสาหกิจชุมชนไก่งวงราชบุรี), the third at Community Enterprise of Mae Ban at Pong Krating (Mae Oy Tin) (วิสาหกิจชุมชนกลุ่มแม่บ้านโป่งกระทิง (แม่อ้อยถิ่น)), and the last stop was at Community Enterprise of Organic pig farm (วิสาหกิจชุมชนหมูหลุม ต.ดอนแร่).

Assumption University Student Organization (AUSO) organized AU Wai Kru Ceremony 2021 on October 19, 2021 on the lobby floor of Vincent Mary School of Science and Technology, Suvarnabhumi Campus.

The objectives of Wai Kru Ceremony are for students to express their respect and gratitude toward teachers as well as to enhance the good relationship between teachers and students. The Rotaract Club of Assumption University of Thailand (AU), under the sponsorship of Rotary Bangkok South organized the 47^th Installation Ceremony of AU Rotaract Club on October 30, 2021, which was held online. The AU Rotaract Club is one of the oldest student clubs at AU and is well recognized by the public due to their numerous outstanding social service activities.

Ms. Kwankhw Pongpatra, Immediate past President of the Rotaract Club of AU gave an opening speech to all participants and paid respect with the Assumption University anthem. Then Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President of Assumption University, presented a welcoming address to all participants.

AU Loy Krathong 2021

Assumption University Student Organization (AUSO), Assumption University of Thailand(AU) organized AU Loy Krathong 2021 on November 17, 2021 at Sala Chaturamuk Paijit, Suvarnabhumi Campus. The objective of Loy Krathong 2021 is to disseminate and to promote Thai culture and tradition among AU community members. Due to the prolonged impact of COVID - 19 pandemic in Thailand, the Loy Krathong festival was administrated under the new normal platform to ensure the utmost safety and memorable experience for its participants.

Loy Krathong activities represent the cultural charms of the 4 regions of Thailand and the Thadingyut festival of Myanmar. There were Thai food booths for the 4 regions and 1 Myanmar food booth, as well as Thai traditional games, activities, and a krathong making workshop. There was also Thai classical dance from the Music Club and the AU International Student Community performed.

The Office of Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Assumption University (AU) organized the training and development session on the topic of “Look Back and Go Ahead: The Challenge.” Rev. Bro. AU Nursing Convocation, Class of 2020

Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science, Assumption University of Thailand (AU) organized Nursing Convocation for Nursing graduates class of 2020 on December 17, 2021 at Salle d' Expo room, Assumption Hall of Hua Mak Campus.

The ceremony began with the academic address by Dr. Pimsiri Bhusiri, Dean of Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science. Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President - Rector Magnificus then delivered an opening remark to the faculty members and Nursing graduate class of 2020.

The ceremony continued with 20 Nursing graduates being adorned with black stripes and pins by the faculty members. This was followed by the honorary session in which the Nursing graduate representative gave the pledge of loyalty and presentation of gratitude.

Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology, Assumption University of Thailand and Confucius Institute at Assumption University of Thailand and Tianjin University of Science and Technology, P.R. China organized the 4^th Belt and Road Biotechnology Seminar “New World: Biotechnology” on January 7, 2022 at A52 Room, Assumption Hall, Hua Mak Campus, Assumption University of Thailand. This event was conducted online via Zoom application due to the persistent spreading of the pandemic COVID-19.

The Commencement Exercises for Graduates Classes of 48 and 49

The commencement exercise is one of special academic events in which graduates are officially bestowed an academic degree that they have successfully obtained. The commencement exercise was initiated in Western universities and later it was adapted and has been implemented in Thai universities.

The commencement exercise in 2022 is for Classes 48 and 49 and it will be held on Saturday 8^th January 2022 at Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the commencement exercise of Class 48 was postponed and later it was combined with that of Class 49.

Assumption University Student Organization (AUSO), Assumption University of Thailand (AU) organized AU Open House 2021: The Journey, You can Design! on January 30, 2022 via online platforms.

The aim of the event is to share information, knowledge, and experiences of AU faculties to the public in terms of program curriculums, teaching and learning methods, AU study life and AU facilities such as laboratories, AU libraries, AU Residence Hall and Center for Sports and Physical Fitness and other training rooms. The participants of the event experienced all AU facilities as if they were their second home. AU Alumni also shared their learning experiences at Assumption university and how to be prepared for future job markets. The participants could use such information to determine their future studies and faculties.

AU Fit for Run (Virtual Run) Academic Year 2021

Center for Sports and Physical Fitness, Student Affairs, Assumption University of Thailand (AU) has organized AU Fit for Run (Virtual Run) between February 7 - March 13, 2022, at Suvarnabhumi Campus.

The running format focuses on accumulating distances for health. The participants can run from anywhere and send running results online via google form. This kind of running was once organized in 2021.

High School Students from Ramkhamhaeng Advent International School (RAIS) Paid a Visit to Assumption University

19 high school juniors and seniors from Ramkhamhaeng Advent International School (RAIS) visited Assumption University (AU) to experience teaching and learning environments and facilities offered by the University at Suvarnabhumi Campus on February 8, 2022.

The students visited Communication Arts Studio at Albert Laurence School of Communication Arts, the group had a chance to learn how to operate tools and equipment used in these studios including a control surface and a green screen. At Vincent Mary School of Engineering, the students also had an opportunity to experience a full flight simulator in the school.

A Group of Students from Assumption College Rayong Visited Assumption University

Many high school students Assumption College Rayong visited Assumption University of Thailand (AU) to experience teaching and learning environments and facilities offered by AU faculties. They were accommodated by lecturers from all faculties who also provided information for the students to decide whether the faculties were what they wanted to pursue for their future.

There was a visit from 30 students who are studying in M.4 and M.5 in Smart English Design and Smart English Science Plan, Smart Program from Assumption College Rayong (ACR) at Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology, Assumption university of Thailand.

Nursing Students Being Invited to Share Their Experiences in Tobacco Control Seminar

The Nurse Network on Tobacco Control of Thailand organized the 9^th seminar entitled “Move Forward for being the Sustainable Nursing Student Club Creating a Smoke-Free Society”. The seminar aimed to increase knowledge and skills related to tobacco control for 155 Deans and instructors and 609 nursing students from nursing schools in Thailand. The seminar was conducted on 19-20 February 2022 via Zoom application.

On this occasion, three junior nursing students from Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science: Mr. Rachanon Sakol, Mr. Rachata Yangyuenvanissakun, and Ms. Tussanawan Putponthip, who won the First Prize of social media contest in the category of “Preventing Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) caused by Cigarette Smoking”

Live for Digital Future: Two New Programs, Creative Commercial Communication (CCC) and Creative Communication Design (CCD)

The Albert Laurence School of Communication Arts organized the Live event to explain about the core programs of Creative Commercial Communication (CCC) and Creative Communication Design (CCD) by Asst. Prof. Nattanan Naewmalee, Communication Design Master (Chairperson) and Dr. Nutthaphut Pandjad, Brand Communication Master (Chairperson).

The Creative Commercial Communication (CCC) program is comprised of five concentrations and the DUET degree program collaboration. The five concentrations are Advertising and Brand Communication, Image Management and Public Relations, Digital Media, Live Event Creation and Management, and Innovative Gamification and Content Management. In the field of advertising, the program has been ranked No. 2 in Thailand from the alumni impact and the research work of faculty members. The Innovative Gamification and Content Management is the latest concentration designed especially for those who love E-sports and gaming.

Assumption University of Thailand (AU) and Assumption College Sriracha (ACS) organized a Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony between AU and ACS for academic exchanges and collaboration on February 28, 2022 at Louis Chanel Auditorium, Assumption College Sriracha.

The MOU signing ceremony started from AU video presentation and Rev. Bro. Dr. Verayuth Boonpram, Director of ACS’s welcome speech. Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President of AU then gave a speech addressing academic exchanges and collaboration between AU and ACS. Then, the Director of ACS and the President of AU signed the MOU.

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony between AU and ACL

Assumption University of Thailand (AU) and Assumption College Lampang (ACL) had Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony for academic exchange and collaboration on March 5, 2022 at La Providence, Assumption College Lampang.

This academic collaboration is part of Modern Trade Business Education (MTE) that supports the Design and Digital Innovation program (DDI) of Assumption University. AU will provide grants for ACL students who have been enrolling at ACL from Grade 1 to Grade 12 (overall 12 years).

Academic Cooperation: MMU Administrator Visited AU

Academic Cooperation: MMU Administrator Visited AU Dr. Soonthorn Pibulcharoensit, University Registrar of Assumption University of Thailand, welcomed Ms. Catherine Oram, Regional Development Manager, South East Asia, on her visit to AU. The visit was due to Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) and AU having academic cooperation and student exchange between institutions.

On this occasion, they also established the 3+1 articulation agreement on undergraduate programs - Hospitality and Tourism Management, Marketing, International Business Management and talked further on the cooperation of the Design and Digital Innovation (DDI) program on March 8, 2022, at Suvarnabhumi Campus.

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony Between

Assumption University and Saint Gabriel’s College
The Memorandum of Signing Ceremony (MOU) between Assumption University of Thailand (AU) and Saint Gabriel’s College (SG) was held on March 16, 2022 at Martin II Meeting Room, Saint Gabriel’s College. Both have agreed to cooperate to jointly explore in academic needs and human resources development collaborations.

Completing the MOU signing formalities, Dr. Kitikorn Dowpiset, Associate Dean, Graduate Studies, represented Assumption University while Rev. Bro. Dr. Monthol Prathumarach, Director of Saint Gabriel’s College, represented Saint Gabriel’s College, co-witnessed by Saint Gabriel's College Board Committee, Saint Gabriel's Parents and Teachers Association (SGPTA), Saint Gabriel's Alumni Association, administrators, and lecturers from Graduate School of Human Sciences, Assumption University.

School of Architecture and Design Organized the Incubation Workshop Student Startup Project “Smart Entrepreneur”

The Product Design Department, Montfort del Rosario School of Architecture and Design, Assumption University of Thailand (AU) organized the Product Design: Incubation Workshop Student Startup Project “Smart Entrepreneur” on March 17-18, 2022.

The Incubation Workshop Student Startup Project “Smart Entrepreneur” is a work display of senior students’ project of Product Design Department, bringing knowledge and experience from studies to design the works and develop to the products, and to receive ideas and experience of the speakers who have been successful in brand’s production and development, eventually, become the entrepreneurs. In addition, the students are able to apply these ideas and experience to their own works in the future.

AU Students Taekwondo Players, Participating in the Spanish Open 2022 on Behalf of the Thai National Team

Let’s join in cheering all Thailand’s Taekwondo national athletes and our 2 Taekwondo athletes of Assumption University of Thailand - Ms. Chutikan Jongkolrattanawattana (นางสาวชุติกาญจน์ จงกลรัตนวัฒนา), 2^nd - year student of Theodore Maria School of Arts, and Mr. Panachai Jaijulla (นายปณชัย ใจจุลละ), 1^st - year student of Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics, who are both Thailand’s Taekwondo national athletes in training and participating in the Taekwondo competition in the Spanish Open 2022 from March 24 to April 5, 2022 in La Nucia (Alicante), Spain.

Earthworm Project for Sustainable Agriculture

Since 2014, Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology has started the annual academic project entitled "Earthworms Culture Training for Community," operated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Viyada Kunathigan and Asst. Prof. Dr. Tatsawan Tipvarakarnkoon and supported by Assumption University of Thailand. This summer (March 26, 2022), the "Earthworm Project for Sustainable Agriculture" vermiculture workshop was conducted at O-Farm at Suvarnabhumi.

The participants included the organic farmers' community led by Mr. Kantapong Kaewkamol (O-farm owner and advisor to the Young Smart Farmer Thailand Network) together with Mr. Penphol Sangkaew (organic farmer and entrepreneur from Phetchabun) and Mrs. Sujinda Mahattanakul (from Samutprakarn provinces) and her team members. The workshop was also broadcasted through the Facebook page of O-Farm (https://www.facebook.com/OFARM2016).

AU Swimming Athlete Got Bronze Medal in Thailand Age Group Swimming Championships 2022

Congratulations to Mr. Passakorn Sridilok (นายพัสกร ศรีดิลก), an AU swimmer and a 3r^d year student from Martin De Tours School of Management and Economics, who won the bronze medal in 50m Backstroke for general category at the Thailand Age Group Swimming Championships 2022 at Aquatic Center, Assumption University, Suvarnabhumi Campus, on April 6, 2022.

AU Preservers Club Made Compost and Planted Trees at Suvarnabhumi Campus

Assumption University of Thailand (AU) by Rev. Bro. Dr. Prathip Martin Komolmas, President Emeritus is aware and support Suvarnabhumi Campus as University in a park which is the concept from the beginning to develop the campus to have shady, peaceful, and calm atmosphere surrounded by assorted plans species including perennial and ornamental plants. In addition, this is to create learning environment in academic, natural, and environmental areas. As a result, nature can be used in everyday life so everyone is aware and know the value of nature.

AU Super Camp 2022

The AU Super Camp 2022 HAS ENDED WITH GREAT SUCCESS!... 132 participants aged 16-19 years old attended the four days and three nights of the AU Super Camp 2022. The participating youngsters acquired new knowledge, received advice on how to start a business, and got the hands-on experience in making business plans from the experts and experienced coaches, as well as the faculty members of Assumption University. In addition, a number of Assumption University's current students participated in the camp to lead activities, provide fun and take care of the participating youngsters.

Through this AU Super Camp 2022, Assumption University has provided scholarships of 10,000 Baht to all 132 youngsters who participated in this camp and wish to study at Assumption University

Online Seminar on “Would you like to know? Those who have studied Japanese, what are they doing?”

On April 23, 2022, the Department of Business Japanese, Theodore Maria School of Arts, Assumption University of Thailand held an online seminar for which over 100 interested students, teachers and guests registered on "Would you like to know? Those who have studied Japanese, what are they doing?.” Its purpose was to promote and inspire learning Japanese for high school students and the general public.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sureepong Phothongsunan, Dean, Faculty of Arts, was honoured to give the opening speech. The three guest speakers were K. Suchart Techasapcharoen, K. Panita Dejcharoen, and K. Saranya Wongprachan. They shared their work experiences and very useful tips for learning Japanese. The atmosphere at the event, hosted by A. Punsirie Chayuti, was fun, exciting and truly inspirational.

Assumption University of Thailand X DIProm from Ministry of Industry to Initiate the Holistic Area Based Community Development in Thailand

Asst. Prof. Dr. Patchanee Yasurin, Dean, Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology, Assumption University of Thailand and Mr. Watcharoon Juyjumlong, Director of Division of Community Industry Development, Ministry of Industry (DIProm) have joined forces together in bringing food and herbal consultants and experts, along with a group of students who volunteer to visit "IN-TO Melon Farm" (อินทร์โตฟาร์ม) at Ang Thong province. IN-TO Melon Farm has been selected as a target entrepreneur that DIProm would like to set up as a model for "Holistic Area Based Community Development." The idea emphasizes on connecting gastronomy tourism through local networking to sustainably create income for the community.

Interior Architecture Design Prep Camp 2022 #ep1 by Interior Architecture Department

On 26 April 2022, Ms. Orn-laor Homsettee, the Director of Center of Research and Design Innovation Service (CRDIS), along with Satit Prasarnmit Demonstration School (Secondary) and Vatcharat Samakkamai, the chairperson of Interior Architecture department (IAAU), brought the student design workshop "Interior Architecture Design Prep Camp 2022" #ep1 to the prospective students and public. The workshop aims to create the new meeting point for high-school students, young-blood designers, architects, and academic instructors to share design experiences and provide a brief hands-on design laboratory.

School of Music Organized AU Music Training Camp No. 9: The Music Entrepreneurship Series

The Louis Nobiron School of Music, Assumption University of Thailand (AU), organized its popular music camp once again, "AU Music Training Camp No. 9: The Music Entrepreneurship Series," on May 11-13, 2022 at the Cathedral of Learning, Suvarnabhumi Campus. Thirty high school students who have a passion for music and want to learn and understand working in the music industry, both in the foreground and behind the scenes, attended the camp.

This camp featured many renowned guest artists such as Pon (Clash), Ink Waruntorn, Pingpong Sirasak, Potay Mean and Kiddorecords and guests from various music companies who came and shared their knowledge and experiences with the participants.

Both are Thailand’s Taekwondo national athletes, type of Gyeorugi and participating in the Taekwondo competition in the 31^st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) during May 14 – 20, 2022 at Hanoi, Vietnam.

“Soft-Pitching” the Pre-Workshop of DDI Students

The pre-workshop named “Soft-Pitching” was held on May 18, 2022, at TRUE LAB, Vincent Mary School of Science and Technology - Assumption University (Suvarnabhumi Campus). To fulfill the program requirements, DDI students must complete ENX2301 Workshop I and ENX2302 Workshop II respectively. As a result, “Soft-Pitching” is the first stage of the business sandbox for entrepreneurial ventures. DDI Students must demonstrate their business model to meet the minimum requirements of the soft-pitching guidelines and grading criteria.

Department of Digital Design and Innovation, Martin de Tours School of Business and Economics, Assumption University of Thailand Bring more than 93 students to DDI BOOTCAMP, a camp where all students get hands-on design innovations in startups that interest them. Students will be able to use their accumulated knowledge and experience to create new things to grow their businesses. More importantly, students have a team of Mentors who can advise and work together.

DDI BOOTCAMP offers students the opportunity to showcase Being able to present a roadmap to actually bring the seeding fund to a start-up is also something that DDI BOOTCAMP is not a typical seminar camp. AU Nursing Capping Ceremony, Class of 2023

The Capping Ceremony for Nursing Students, Class of 2023, was organized by the Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Salle d’ Expo, Hua Mak Campus, Assumption University of Thailand.

The Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science annually organizes this Capping Ceremony for the qualified nursing students who have completed their basic professional nursing training both theory and clinical practicum. This ceremony aims to adorn nursing caps to qualified nursing students; to inspire nursing students for continuing their study successfully; and to promote students’ good attitude toward nursing profession.

Digital Design and Innovation (DDI) First Orientation Camp 2022

Right before the 1/2022 semester begins, Department of Digital Design and Innovation (DDI), Martin de Tours School of Business and Economics, Assumption University held the first orientation to welcome the 190 youngsters (Batch 2) to get to know each other as well as to build good friendships between friends and seniors in the faculty and explains the additional curriculum of the faculty of DDI, gave a warm welcome speech to the students by Rev. Bro. Dr. Verayuth Boonpram, Vice President for Student Affairs.
The DDI First Orientation Camp 2022 is aimed at re-education, fostering good friendships between peers and seniors in the faculties, and providing guidance for further study. Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President of Assumption University, gave an opening speech to the DDI students on the first day of the camp.
