Assumption University of Thailand (AU) ’s Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science (BLNS) recently showcased its commitment to academic service by conducting health assessments and consultations for students at Klong Kaja (Pongsombat-Bumrung) School, a partner institution under an MOU with the University. This initiative, which took place on December 2 and 18, 2024, highlights the University's dedication to fostering health and well-being among young learners in its neighboring community.
The program was spearheaded by a team of BLNS instructors: Dr. Pimsiri Bhusiri, Chairperson of the Academic Committee, Dr. Chavalee Boonto, Dr. Prapawan Praevanich, and Dr. Naree Achwarin. They collaborated closely with Mrs. Naraporn Thongchai, Head of the Academic Department at Klong Kaja School, to provide comprehensive health screenings and personalized consultations for fifth and sixth-grade students.

These activities served multiple purposes, including early health screenings for students, strengthening the partnership between BLNS and Klong Kaja School, and offering BLNS instructors an opportunity to implement faculty practice in a real-world setting.
Dr. Pimsiri Bhusiri, Chairperson of the Academic Committee, expressed her enthusiasm for the program, stating, “Our collaboration with Klong Kaja School reflects AU’s mission to extend knowledge and care beyond our campus. It’s incredibly rewarding to support the health and well-being of these young students while fostering stronger ties with our community partners.”
AU takes immense pride in initiatives like this, which underscore its role as a leader in community outreach and holistic education. Programs like these not only benefit the immediate community but also enrich the teaching and learning experiences for BLNS faculty and students.
