Assumption University of Thailand (AU) proudly spotlights Dr. Shuai Zejun, a distinguished alumnus whose journey epitomizes the spirit of innovation and academic excellence. Currently a Project Coordinator and Industrial Project Mentor at Chulalongkorn University's School of Integrated Innovation (ScII), Dr. Shuai is also doing his PhD research in Entrepreneurial Uncertainty, Technology Transfer, and Digital Transformation.
Dr. Shuai’s academic journey began at Assumption University of Thailand, where his passion for the Thai culture and the thriving Chinese community led him to choose AU for his studies. Majoring in International Business Management with Business French Studies, Dr. Shuai embraced the unique blend of academic rigor and cultural experiences that AU offered. Reflecting on his time at AU, Dr. Shuai shared, "My love for the vibrant Thai culture and the thriving Chinese community here made studying at AU an absolute no-brainer."
At ABAC, Dr. Shuai forged lifelong friendships and gained a solid grasp of business fundamentals. His professors, whom he describes as "patient, approachable gems," played a crucial role in his academic journey. Dr. Shuai's time at AU was marked by inspiring field trips, including a memorable visit to Ayutthaya. Graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2020, Dr. Shuai’s academic excellence set a solid foundation for his future endeavors.

Dr. Shuai’s academic excellence is complemented by his entrepreneurial spirit. He has participated in numerous startup competitions, advised automotive companies on entering the Chinese market, and led Stanford’s teaching innovation scholars’ program. Dr. Shuai is dedicated to making entrepreneurship accessible, blending business acumen with technological innovation to guide young entrepreneurs from ideation to execution.
Beyond his entrepreneurial ventures, Dr. Shuai is a prolific researcher and academic. He frequently presents research on untapped student potential and publishes in esteemed academic journals. His achievements include earning an MBA degree from the Asian Institute of Technology.
Dr. Shuai’s journey is a testament to his relentless pursuit of excellence and innovation. "A passion for bringing ideas to life mixed with a dash of academic rigor is what drives me," he says. His vision is to choreograph the next steps in the dance of innovation, guiding others to tactfully tango from discovery to market disruption.
Dr. Shuai has recently reached an exciting milestone in his academic journey! He was recently awarded the "Innovation Project Achievement in Market-based Allocation of New Productivity Factor Resources" certificate by the Shanghai Intellectual Property Exchange Center. This honor celebrates his outstanding mentorship in a collaborative industrial project with Chulalongkorn University's School of Integrated Innovation, under the guidance of Dr. Pietro Borsano. Dr. Shuai’s achievement highlights his dedication to advancing IP innovation and market-based resource allocation. His work is a shining example of how passion and perseverance can lead to remarkable accomplishments.
