Assumption University of Thailand (AU), in collaboration with Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and Chongqing Artists Association from the People's Republic of China, is hosting the ASEAN-China Art Exhibition titled “Covenant of Mountains and Seas – Aesthetics in Diversity.” Since its opening on October 25, the exhibition has attracted art enthusiasts, students, and cultural representatives, underscoring the profound connections fostered through shared creativity and cultural exchange.

This unique exhibition, held at Assumption University’s Suvarnabhumi Campus Art Gallery, offers a diverse collection of works including oil paintings, mixed media, digital art, and traditional Chinese paintings. Celebrating this year’s “ASEAN-China Year of People-to-People Cultural Exchange” the exhibition spotlights an array of artwork showcasing the diverse artistry of ASEAN and Chinese cultures. Highlights include stunning pieces like “Sketches from Kashgar No. 4” by Pang Maokun and “Growth of Living Things NO2” by Wang Shaogang, both of which capture the intricate beauty of nature and human emotion.

Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., Ph.D., President of Assumption University of Thailand (AU), noted in his opening address that the exhibition represents the university’s commitment to being a cultural and educational bridge between nations. “This exhibition not only celebrates the artistry of ASEAN and China but serves as a testament to the power of collaboration and cultural understanding in today’s interconnected world.”

Dr. Apichart Intaravisit, Program Director of the newly announced Master of Fine Arts Program, emphasizes that the exhibition provides an inspiring environment for art students and enthusiasts. “Art transcends language and borders, and through this exhibition, we’re building a space for both introspection and connection, igniting creative spirits in our students and the community.”
