Assumption University of Thailand (AU) ’s swim team is making headlines after months of grueling early morning practices paid off with impressive victories at the Thailand Age Group Swimming Short Course Championships. Held from September 19th to 22nd, 2024, at the AU’s Suvarnabhumi Campus, the competition saw two of AU’s athletes rise to the occasion.

Mr. Chayut Charoenthamthat, a first-year student from the Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology, struck gold in the men’s open 200-meter breaststroke. Chayut’s relentless training regimen—six days a week starting at 5am—proved to be the key to his success, as he dominated the pool representing Peak Performance Swim Club.
AU alumnus Mr. Kanjankan Prechawutikun, from the Theodore Maria School of Arts, also impressed, earning two bronze medals in the men’s open 50-meter butterfly and 50-meter freestyle. His dedication to the sport has remained unwavering even after graduating, and it showed in his outstanding performance.

Both athletes exemplify the discipline, perseverance, and commitment that come with training at such a high level. Their achievements are a testament to the hours of hard work they’ve invested, often before the sun rises, and the university couldn’t be prouder.
