On November 11, Assumption University of Thailand (AU) reflects on the Feast Day of Saint Martin de Tours, Patron Saint of President Emeritus, Rev. Bro. Prathip M. Komolmas, f.s.g., Ph.D., who is known as A Man of Faith and Intuition. Brother Martin’s legacy at AU is a testament to the values exemplified by Saint Martin: compassion, humility, and dedication to a life of service.

Saint Martin, originally a soldier in the Roman army, sought to follow a higher calling. His famous words, "I am Christ’s soldier; I am not allowed to fight," led to his discharge and marked the beginning of a life devoted to faith. When challenged with accusations of cowardice, he bravely offered, "Put me in the front lines unarmed, and I shall march into battle in the name of the Lord." His life, from selfless acts of compassion to his missionary journeys, exemplifies a faith-filled journey that continues to inspire.

Brother Martin, similarly, guided by faith and compassion, has profoundly shaped AU through his lifelong commitment to education and spiritual leadership. Saint Martin’s life serves as a call for us all to see Christ in everyone we meet and to act with humility and conviction. His example is a source of strength and guidance in our own lives.

The Feast Day of Saint Martin de Tours offers an occasion for the Assumption University community to honor the values embodied by Saint Martin and celebrated in the life of Brother Martin. Through their shared dedication to faith and service, Brother Martin’s leadership continues to shape AU’s mission and legacy.
