WRITER: THE AU LIBRARY

On a warm Monday afternoon, inside the Louis Chanel Auditorium at Assumption College Sriracha, the leaders of two of Thailand’s most esteemed educational institutions came together to sign an agreement that could reshape the academic trajectory of countless students.

Assumption University of Thailand (AU)  and Assumption College Sriracha (ACS), both founded by the Brothers of St. Gabriel, have long shared a common mission: to provide a rigorous, values-driven education that prepares students for leadership in an increasingly complex world. Now, through a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), they are deepening that commitment.

The agreement, signed by Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., Ph.D., President of AU, and Rev. Bro. Pisutr Vapiso, f.s.g., Ph.D., Director of Assumption College Sriracha, is designed to strengthen academic collaboration between the two institutions over the next five years.

An Agreement Rooted in Shared Values

Founded by the Brothers of St. Gabriel, both institutions have built a reputation for academic excellence, discipline, and internationalism. Their partnership will go beyond symbolic gestures, laying out concrete measures to support students in their transition from high school to University.

Under the new agreement, AU will provide ACS students with University admission quotas, scholarships, and opportunities to participate in academic programs, workshops, and faculty-led initiatives. The collaboration will also allow ACS students to enroll in select University-level courses, earning transferable credits toward their undergraduate studies.

Meanwhile, ACS will open its doors to AU faculty and researchers, facilitating joint projects, mentorship programs, and career guidance initiatives designed to better equip students for the demands of higher education.

The ceremony unfolded with the precision and decorum one would expect from two institutions steeped in tradition. AU executives were welcomed at the Administration Building’s Welcome Center, where conversations hinted at the promise of deeper collaboration.

Inside the Louis Chanel Auditorium, the audience watched video presentations recounting the history and impact of both institutions. Then came the moment of formality: Rev. Bro. Pisutr took the stage to express ACS’s enthusiasm for the partnership, followed by Rev. Bro. Sirichai, who spoke passionately about AU’s role in shaping the future of Thai education.

As the two leaders put pen to paper, applause filled the auditorium. The signing was followed by an exchange of tokens—small but symbolic gestures of a partnership now sealed.

Looking Ahead

Beyond the ceremonial photographs and handshakes, the MoU signals a long-term strategy to bridge secondary and higher education in Thailand, fostering a seamless pipeline from high school to University. In an era when students face growing uncertainty about their academic and professional futures, the agreement offers them a clear, structured path forward.

For both Assumption University of Thailand  and Assumption College Sriracha, the MoU is more than a formal document. It is a reaffirmation of a mission set forth by the Brothers of St. Gabriel nearly a century ago—a mission that remains as vital today as it was then.
