WRITER: THE AU LIBRARY

In a move to strengthen Thailand’s sporting landscape, Assumption University of Thailand (AU) and the Thailand Aquatics Association (TAA) came together on December 3, 2024, to sign a landmark agreement for the use of AU’s world-class facilities.

The signing ceremony, held in the Wiset Sisamut Room of the Cathedral of Learning Building at AU’s Suvarnabhumi Campus, was organized by the Center for Sports and Physical Fitness under Student Affairs. It marked the beginning of a partnership aimed at supporting aquatic sports and fostering a culture of physical fitness and athletic excellence within the university and beyond.

Speaking at the event, representatives from both institutions emphasized the significance of the collaboration. The agreement allows TAA to utilize AU’s facilities for training, competitions, and development programs, highlighting the university’s commitment to nurturing sports as an essential part of education and community engagement.

The collaboration comes at a time when Thailand is striving to elevate its status in international aquatic sports. TAA President lauded the agreement, noting that AU’s premier facilities would play a crucial role in developing new talent and enhancing the country’s competitiveness on the global stage.

The signing ceremony was attended by key officials from both institutions, including faculty, staff, and representatives from the Student Affairs division.
