Assumption University of Thailand (AU)’s President, Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., Ph.D., along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Krisana Kitcharoen, Vice President for Strategic Advancement, paid a heartfelt visit to His Eminence Cardinal Michael Michai Kitbunchu. The visit was in celebration of two significant events: the Feast Day of His Eminence’s patron saint, St. Michael the Archangel, and the Feast Day of the Archangels—St. Michael, St. Gabriel, and St. Raphael on September 29, 2024.

This day holds deep significance for the Catholic community, as the three Archangels are the only angels named in Sacred Scripture, each playing an essential role in the salvation history. St. Michael is celebrated as the warrior and protector, defending the faithful against evil. St. Gabriel is known as God’s messenger, delivering important divine revelations, most notably to the Virgin Mary in the Annunciation. St. Raphael, on the other hand, is venerated as the healer and guide, accompanying the faithful on their spiritual journeys.

The visit of AU’s leadership was a gesture of unity, faith, and respect for the longstanding contributions of His Eminence Cardinal Michai to the Catholic Church and the community at large. During their time together, they reflected on the powerful symbolism of the Archangels and the values they represent—protection, communication, and healing—all of which resonate deeply with the mission and vision of Assumption University.

Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., Ph.D., reaffirmed AU’s commitment to fostering these values of leadership, faith, and service within the university community. He emphasized the importance of recognizing the spiritual roots that guide AU’s direction as an institution dedicated to truth, knowledge, and human dignity.

This celebration further strengthens the bond between Assumption University and the broader Catholic Church community, demonstrating once again AU’s dedication to not only academic excellence but also moral and spiritual leadership.
