AU Strengthens UK Ties with St. Mary’s University Twickenham Visit

The President of Assumption University of Thailand (AU), Rev. Bro. Dr. Sirichai Fonseka, recently met with Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Anthony McClaran of St. Mary’s University Twickenham, London, to further strengthen their partnership. On this occasion, Assumption University extends heartfelt thanks to President Emeritus, Rev. Bro. Dr. Martin Komolmas, for pioneering educational cooperation with the UK back in 1994, starting with academic collaboration alongside Prof. Colin Knapp, who initiated Thailand's first joint program at AU.

The visit focused on enhancing collaborations, particularly in joint MBA programs, international business management, and expanding study abroad opportunities. Both institutions are committed to fostering long-term partnerships, including student exchanges, summer schools, faculty collaborations, research initiatives, and knowledge sharing.

During the discussions, a special focus was placed on curriculum development, exploring joint efforts in creating new courses in areas where both universities excel. These include master's and Ph.D. programs in counseling psychology, education, sports, and management.

St Mary’s University, Twickenham, London Partners with Assumption University of Thailand share the same Catholic identity and characteristics since 2018, the Strengthening such collaborations could benefit both institutions by enhancing their global reputation, increasing research output, and offering students and faculty a more diverse range of academic opportunities.
