In a visit that highlighted the enduring connection between faith and education, Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., Ph.D., President of Assumption University of Thailand (AU), visited H.E. Bishop Francis Xavier Vira Arpondratana, the newly appointed Apostolic Administrator of Bangkok.
Bishop Vira, who assumed the role earlier this year, welcomed Bro. Sirichai with warmth and gratitude, reflecting on the pivotal role Assumption University has played in promoting Catholic values in education. Their conversation delved into shared goals — fostering a sense of moral leadership, community service, and intellectual growth among students.
During the visit, Bro. Sirichai reaffirmed the university’s commitment to Catholic teachings, emphasizing that education is not just about academic excellence but about nurturing the whole person, rooted in faith and compassion. “Our mission,” he said, “is to cultivate the kind of leadership that serves society with integrity and humility.”
The visit also provided an opportunity for Bro. Sirichai to offer his congratulations to Bishop Vira on his new role, pledging continued collaboration between Assumption University and the Archdiocese of Bangkok.
As the visit drew to a close, both leaders prayed together for the success of their respective missions, united in their commitment to building a more thoughtful and compassionate world through education and faith.
Bro. Sirichai’s visit underscores Assumption University’s deep-rooted connection to the Catholic Church and its dedication to maintaining an educational environment that balances academic achievement with ethical and spiritual development.
