The Center for Student Leadership and Experiential Learning (CSLEL), Student Affairs, Assumption University of Thailand (AU) in collaboration with the Assumption University Student Organization (AUSO), recently hosted its Mid-Year Seminar, drawing students from across the university for a transformative three-day event. Held from October 15-17, 2024, at St. Gabriel's Conference Room, St. Gabrial Foundation of Thailand the seminar set the stage for meaningful self-reflection and leadership development.

The highlight of the seminar was a captivating workshop on the Enneagram of Personality, led by distinguished alumnus Ajarn Siripong Rongsirikul, who guided participants through a deep dive into self-awareness using the Enneagram framework. The Enneagram, a model that categorizes individuals into nine distinct personality types, has garnered attention globally as a tool for both personal and professional growth.
Ajarn Siripong, a Ph.D. candidate in Philosophy at AU and an alumnus with degrees in Business English and Computer Information Systems, brought his expertise to the seminar. His interactive workshop helped student leaders uncover insights into their own personalities, enabling them to better understand their strengths and areas for growth.
"Workshops like this offer students not just a tool for personal development, but a framework for improving interpersonal relationships and team dynamics," Aj. Siripong said. "The Enneagram encourages self-reflection, which is key to becoming a more effective leader."

The workshop, which was part of a broader program to review and evaluate student-led initiatives at the university, provided a unique opportunity for AUSO members to reflect on their progress and set clear goals for the remainder of the academic year.
University President Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., Ph.D., delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the importance of effective leadership and work ethics. His address underscored the university's commitment to nurturing well-rounded leaders who are equipped to face challenges head-on.
For many students, the Enneagram workshop provided a crucial steppingstone on their leadership journey. Participants actively engaged in discussions about how understanding their personality type can enhance collaboration within student organizations and beyond.
The workshop was a part of a broader program that included the following key objectives:
- Reviewing the performance of projects from Academic Year 1/2024.
- Presenting plans for projects in Academic Year 2/2024.
- Engaging with the President of Assumption University.
- Reflecting as a team to enhance future operations.
- This retreat will again AUSO members, promote team reflection, and set the stage for a successful upcoming academic year. We will also receive valuable insights from the University President to guide our efforts moving forward. Let ‘ s strengthen teamwork and sharpen our strategies for success
As the seminar came to a close, it was clear that the lessons learned over the three days would resonate long after the event. With the guidance of key university leaders and the introspective power of the Enneagram, student leaders left with a renewed sense of purpose and the tools needed to continue making an impact at AU and beyond.
