The Center for Sports and Physical Fitness, Student Affairs at Assumption University of Thailand (AU) recently organized a specialized Sports Science Training and Physical Fitness Assessment session for AU athletes on the topic "Preparing for Sports Competitions to Enhance Performance and Reduce Injuries". Held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the VMES Meeting Room 0101, Vincent Mary School of Engineering, Science and Technology. The event aimed to equip athletes with essential knowledge and techniques to maximize their performance and stay injury-free during competitions.
The session was led by 'Pee Yai' Mr. Wannarat Yaiyong, a renowned expert with over 20 years of experience in physical therapy both domestically and internationally. Mr. Wannarat, along with his skilled team, shared invaluable insights into body rehabilitation, injury prevention, and strategies for optimizing physical preparedness. With an engaging and hands-on approach, the athletes participated enthusiastically, gaining practical knowledge that will enhance their training regimens moving forward.


A lively Q&A session followed the presentation, offering athletes the opportunity to clarify doubts and dive deeper into the science behind peak performance and injury prevention. The atmosphere was one of excitement and collaboration, with participants expressing their eagerness to apply what they had learned.
Later that afternoon, the athletes underwent a comprehensive physical fitness test to evaluate their readiness for the upcoming 50th Thammasat Games, one of Thailand’s most prestigious university sports competitions. The tests were designed to measure various aspects of physical endurance and strength, ensuring that all participants were in top shape ahead of the games.



The event saw 120 athletes, coaches, and staff members from various sports teams at AU, including Football, Basketball, Flag Football, Tennis, Table Tennis, Golf, Swimming, Taekwondo, Jiu-Jitsu, Badminton, Go, Checkers, and Shooting. Leading the initiative was Mr. Nukul Chaisuriya, Director of the Center for Sports and Physical Fitness,Student Affairs who emphasized the importance of proper preparation in ensuring both individual and team success.
With the training and fitness assessments complete, AU athletes are now more confident and ready to compete in the Thammasat Games, aiming to bring glory to the university. As the countdown to the games continues, this event marks an important milestone in their journey toward success.
