Assumption University Student Organization (AUSO) and Student Affairs, Assumption University of Thailand (AU) organized Club Expo 2022: The Explorer on July 18 - 22, 2022 at AU Plaza, The Cathedral of Learning building, Suvarnabhumi Campus.
The Club Expo aims to provide AU students, particularly freshmen, the opportunity to learn about 20-activity units as well as to encourage them to participate in extracurricular activities at Assumption University. The event was presided over by Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, the AU President, on July 19. 2022. In attendance were Rev. Bro. Dr. Amnuay Yoonprayong, Vice President for Moral Development Education, and Rev. Bro. Dr. Verayuth Boonpram, Vice President for Student Affairs.
At this event, the organizer also invited a special guest, Mr. Weerapol Weerachotewasin, Founder & CEO of EdVISORY Company, to express his opinion and advised AU Students in order to look for good opportunities and plan for their careers.

The world is rapidly moving towards 4th industrial revolution which changes the way we all live, work, and learn.
In addition, as technology evolves and becomes more affordable and easier to access, the future of work has adopting robots and AI to automate tasks and drive efficiency. However, the arrival of technology disruption not only demands re-skilling and up-skilling for workforce to remain relevant but it also brings about new opportunities for both employees and employers. For example, students can become youtuber while doing 9-5 jobs at the same time. We call it "gig economy." Again, technology disruption posts question to us whether we have prepared our students enough to leverage tools in their work and life.
Therefore, it is my utmost appreciation to foster partnership with ABAC to support and transform the way we prepare and develop our students to achieve 3E - Entreprenurial Spirit, English Literacy, and Ethics - for the future of work. Meeting with Rector Magnificus, Vice Presidents, and ABAC students today made me feel certain that our journey towards shaping the future we want, the desired career and education, has already begun. Now the choice is yours, students, to design your own future, make a difference, and live your meaningful life. |
According to EdVISORY analysis, there are 500,000 students graduating from universities each year, half of which are NEET (not in education, employment, and training). On the other hand, there are 470,000 jobs opening each year but 40% of them are still vacant. This phenomenon of workforce demand and supply gaps show us a significant sign of skill mismatch. So the question is how effective are we in developing the future skills for the future careers which are dynamic and uncertain.
Moreover, as the world becomes more volatile, uncertain, complicated, and ambiguous (VUCA), we need to equip our students with adaptability, resilience, and growth mindset so that they can navigate through the challenging environment.
