The unveiling ceremony of the Overseas Training Base of Information Technology between Assumption University of Thailand and Chengdu Vocational & Technical College of Industry was successfully held on the morning of September 14, 2024.
In an effort to reduce regional barriers to higher education and strengthen the community of shared destiny for international education cooperation, Dr. Sirichai Fonseka, President of Assumption University of Thailand, led a delegation to Chengdu Vocational & Technical College of Industry. The visit aimed to enhance international education exchanges and cooperation between the two institutions. The unveiling of the Overseas Training Base of Information Technology signified a new milestone in their collaboration in the field of information technology.
During the visit, the Assumption University delegation, accompanied by leaders from Chengdu Vocational & Technical College of Industry, toured the campus, including the teaching facilities and environment of the School of Artificial Intelligence and the School of Electronic Information Engineering. Following the tour, both sides engaged in a cordial and friendly discussion in the conference room.
Campus Visit and Forum
At the forum, Yu Zhiping, Party Secretary of Chengdu Vocational & Technical College of Industry, warmly welcomed the delegation from Assumption University and provided a detailed introduction to the college’s development, academic programs, and its achievements as a key institution in the national "double high" construction initiative. He emphasized that the collaboration with Assumption University is a crucial step in the college's international development. He also expressed hope that through the joint efforts of both institutions, students would be offered a broader platform for learning and growth.
In response, Dr. Sirichai Fonseka expressed his sincere gratitude for the warm reception. He highlighted the rapid development of information technology and the increasing exchange of knowledge across regions and countries, noting that global education is becoming more integrated. Under the new circumstances, industries are facing transformation, creating a strong demand for highly skilled technical talent. Dr. Sirichai emphasized the importance of cultivating senior professionals with expertise in modern information technology to meet these needs, calling it a key issue in advancing the internationalization of both Chinese and Thai institutions.
Unveiling Ceremony
The ceremony to unveil the Overseas Training Base of Information Technology marked the culmination of the visit. The establishment of this base not only expands the educational systems of both institutions on multiple levels but also provides a powerful platform for information technology training, communication, and practical experience for students from both schools. This collaboration aims to cultivate multi-skilled IT professionals who are familiar with international standards and practices.
