The Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology at Assumption University of Thailand (AU) hosted an inspiring event at Salle d’Expo, Hua Mak Campus, celebrating student achievements, groundbreaking research, and food innovation. The program brought together faculty, students, and distinguished guests to honor academic excellence, showcase research, and present cutting-edge food science innovations.

Honoring Academic Excellence: Pin Decoration and Orientation Ceremony
The event commenced with a welcome speech from University leaders, reaffirming AU’s commitment to scientific advancement and research excellence.
The Biotechnology’s Pin Decoration Ceremony was a key highlight, recognizing students' dedication to their academic and professional journey. Each student was honored with a hand-painted miniature microscope pin, a beautifully crafted symbol of their commitment to scientific discovery. This unique tradition represents the precision, curiosity, and innovation that define biotechnology. A group photo captured this moment of pride and achievement.
The Annual Last Orientation Ceremony provided final-year biotechnology students with insights into career opportunities and professional growth. A special talk by Dr. Kittiya Kesornbuakao, an AU alumna and APAC Segment Expert in Savory at IMCD (Thailand), explored the role of data analytics and experimental design in efficient product development, emphasizing industry trends and innovation.

A lively discussion followed with “Sissy Girls Talk” (เจ๊อยากถาม พี่อยากเล่า), featuring Asst. Prof. Dr. Patchanee Yasurin, Dean of School of Biotechnology and Dr. Kittiya Kesornbuakao, where students had the opportunity to engage in candid conversations about their academic and career paths.
To recognize student excellence, the Student of the Year Awards honored outstanding individuals for their contributions in academics, leadership, and research.

Future Food Student Innovation Showcase: A Taste of Tomorrow
The Future Food Student Innovation Showcase was a major highlight, featuring creative food products developed by students in the FT4114 Bakery Technology and FT4157 Advanced Food Processing Innovation and Technologies courses. The showcase included:
🍊 Orange Jam – A vibrant, sun-kissed fruit spread
🥖 White Bread with a Nutritious Twist
🍪 Matcha-Siam Cardamom Soft Cookies – An innovative fusion of flavors
🧁 Crispy Matcha Muffin with Chocolate Chips – A delicious, fiber-rich treat made with banana flour
🌰 Chia Seed Oat Cookies – Packed with Omega-3 and essential nutrients
🍵 Inulin Matcha Basque Cheesecake – A decadent yet health-conscious dessert
🍪 Natural Color Meringue
These innovative products demonstrated students’ ability to blend scientific research with culinary creativity, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
Research Innovation and Global Opportunities
The event also featured the Theophane Venard Student Research Innovation Exhibition, where students presented their latest research in food science and biotechnology. This exhibition highlighted cutting-edge studies, focusing on food sustainability, ingredient innovation, and advanced food processing technologies.
Students were also introduced to study abroad opportunities through a special session led by AU’s Office of International Affairs, encouraging them to explore global educational pathways, scholarships, and research collaborations.
