Assumption University of Thailand (AU)’ s Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology was pleased to host a special lecture on “What is Palatability for Pet Food”, presented by Ms. Phatthranit Rungsitsathien, QFS & Regulatory Affairs Manager at SPF Diana (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
As part of the FT 4144 Food Ingredients Functionality and FT 3114 Functional Foods for Health courses, this event offered students a unique, real-world perspective on the future trends of pet food in the industry. Ms. Phatthranit provided in-depth insights on how palatability plays a crucial role in pet food production, focusing on the balance between flavor, texture, and aroma that meets both the nutritional needs of pets and the preferences of pet owners.
The interactive lecture allowed students to ask questions and engage with practical knowledge from the pet food industry, equipping them with valuable insights into food functionality and innovation. Phatthranit emphasized the importance of research and development in driving future trends in functional food for pets, discussing the various challenges faced by the industry and the regulatory standards that shape product development.
