On November 5, 2024, twenty-two senior nursing students, accompanied by Dr. Patra Phuekphan and Assistant Professor Dr. Siriporn Poonruksa, visited the Thailand Nursing and Midwifery Council (TNMC). This field trip, part of their Nursing Leadership and Management Practicum course, aimed to deepen their understanding of professional nursing organizations by exploring TNMC’s policies, functions, and management system.

Captain Dr. Thanaporn Yaemsuda, Assistant Director of the Center for Continuing Nursing Education, warmly welcomed the group and provided an insightful presentation on TNMC’s history, roles, and regulatory authority. She detailed TNMC’s core responsibilities in overseeing the professional practices of registered nurses, midwives, and nurse-midwives, in line with ethical standards. Students also learned about TNMC’s processes, including registration, licensing, curriculum approval, and program accreditation.

In addition to these educational sessions, the students explored the TNMC museum, where they connected with the inspiring legacy of Thai nurses, tracing the profession’s honorable history from its origins to the present day. This experience provided them with a unique perspective on the dedication and achievements of Thai nursing professionals.
