The usually quiet halls of Assumption University of Thailand (AU) ’s Hua Mak Campus were anything but today as the Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology hosted an electrifying lecture that left students and faculty buzzing with excitement. The guest of honor? None other than packaging powerhouse Prof. Dr. Pornchai Rachtanapun, who delivered a no-holds-barred talk on the future of "Active and Intelligent Packaging" for food and agriculture products.
The event, part of the FT4126 Food Packaging and FT4145 Packaging Design Innovation courses, saw a packed room at P45 Room as eager students hung onto every word of Dr. Pornchai ‘s presentation. From the latest breakthroughs in smart packaging to the practical applications of these innovations, Dr. Pornchai covered it all with the kind of insight and authority that only a true expert in the field can provide.
“Packaging isn’t just about containing products anymore; it’s about preserving, communicating, and even interacting with consumers,” Dr. Pornchai asserted, drawing nods of approval from the captivated audience. “The future of packaging is here, and it’s smarter than ever.”
The lecture wasn’t just informative—it was transformative. Students were treated to a sneak peek at cutting-edge technologies that promise to revolutionize the food and agriculture industries. From packaging that can change color to indicate spoilage to materials that extend shelf life by interacting with the food inside, the innovations discussed could soon become the industry standard.
And it wasn’t just the students who were impressed. Faculty members were overheard praising the depth of knowledge and passion Dr. Pornchai brought to the table. “This was a masterclass in what’s possible when science meets creativity,” said one professor. “It’s clear that the future of packaging is in very capable hands.”
Students left with not just notes and ideas but a newfound excitement for the future of their field. If today’s lecture was any indication, the next generation of food and agriculture packaging innovators is ready to take the industry by storm.
