Business Exploration
AU has arranged four trips for SIMBA students to explore Thailand’s markets, categorized into four areas:
- Wholesale market
- Fresh morning/day market
- Night market
- High-end market
SIMBA students visited these four areas, specifically Sampeng Market, Hua Takhae Market, Jodd Fair Night Market, and ICONSIAM, representing categories 1 to 4, respectively
At Sampeng Market, SIMBA students observed how goods are distributed, which products interest the Thai market, and how sellers operate. In the fresh morning/day market, students had the opportunity to see how locals start their day, experiencing the vibrant atmosphere and enjoying delicious food at very affordable prices. They also had the chance to take a traditional Thai long-tail boat ride and pay respect at Wat Sri Waree Noi Temple.
The excitement continued at Jodd Fair Night Market, where students explored a wide variety of street food stalls and trendy, fashionable items scattered throughout the market. The final stop was ICONSIAM, situated along the Chao Phraya River, representing the high-end market, where students could observe both local and international luxury brands. Assumption University of Thailand (AU) kindly provided an international buffet at Great Harbour to wrap up the experience.

Overall, SIMBA students had an immersive and insightful experience, engaging in activities aligned with the Business Exploration theme of this four-day event. The event was organized by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rawin Vongurai, Graduate Studies, in collaboration with the Vincent Mary School of Engineering, Science and Technology, with Assumption University as the main sponsor.
