Assumption University of Thailand (AU)'s Salle d'Expo Room, Hua Mak Campus came alive with energy and excitement as Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology hosted the highly anticipated Biotech Day 2024. Students, faculties, and families gathered for a day filled with friendly competition, teamwork, and spirited games that brought together members of all years for the ultimate showdown: Pineapple vs. Broccoli.

The event began with an inspiring opening speech by Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, Rector Magnificus, whose presence and words set the tone for the day. His message centered on the importance of unity, resilience, and the true spirit of sportsmanship, qualities that resonate deeply within the AU community.

"Biotech Day is more than just competition—it’s a celebration of our shared mission to foster creativity, camaraderie, and leadership," said Brother Bancha. His remarks, delivered with the wisdom and grace that he is renowned for, left a lasting impression on all in attendance. Many participants noted how his speech ignited a sense of pride and purpose that carried through the day’s activities.

Following Brother Bancha’s speech, Asst. Prof. Dr. Patchanee Yasurin, Dean of Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology, warmly welcomed attendees and praised the efforts of the students and staff in organizing the event.

The competition was fierce but friendly, with participants giving their all during the various Family Games. Team Pineapple (yellow) was led by A. Watanya Chaisayan and Team Broccoli (green) was led by Dr. Samatcha Krungkeaw. The whole faculties was divided into half for fun. Each year group showcased their skills, teamwork, and determination in a series of lighthearted but challenging games that tested not only physical agility but also strategic thinking and collaboration.

Brother Bancha eloquently reminded everyone, "In every game, what matters most is not the score, but the relationships and memories we build along the way." His closing remarks left everyone reflecting on the day with smiles on their faces and a renewed sense of community.

Biotech Day 2024 was a resounding success, exemplifying the spirit of AU and its commitment to nurturing both academic and personal growth in every student. The event was a powerful reminder of the importance of fellowship, fun, and friendly competition in building a vibrant campus culture.
