Assumption University of Thailand (AU)’s Suvarnabhumi Campus was alive with the vibrant flavors and aromas of the world during the "Culinary Passport: A Flavorful Journey Around the World" event, held on August 13-14, 2024. Organized by the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics (MSME), this two-day international food fest brought together students, faculty, and food enthusiasts for an unforgettable culinary adventure.
Over the course of the event, attendees were treated to 20 unique culinary experiences, featuring 10 diverse food offerings, 5 beverages, and 5 delectable desserts from various corners of the globe. The event not only showcased the culinary talents of AU’s students but also provided them with invaluable hands-on experience in event management, teamwork, and customer service.

The Culinary Passport event was orchestrated by students enrolled in the HTM4302/BHT3401 Event Management led by Chairperson, Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management, who said, "This event was a remarkable opportunity for our students to step out of the classroom and into a real-world setting, where they could bring their creative visions to life. Watching them navigate the complexities of event management with such enthusiasm and professionalism has been incredibly rewarding. It’s a reminder that when theory meets practice, our students can achieve extraordinary things.”
Students from HTM3211/BHT3401 Food and Beverage Management classes successfully managed many aspects of the event, from logistical planning to the creation and operation of the food booths.
Rev. Bro. Bancha Saenghiran, President and Rector Magnificus of AU, praised the event’s success, stating, “The 'Culinary Passport' event exemplifies our commitment to providing experiential learning opportunities for our students. This event not only allowed them to apply their classroom knowledge in a real-world setting but also instilled in them a deeper appreciation for global cultures through the universal language of food. Congratulations to the HTM students for an inspirational event.”
The "Culinary Passport" event was more than just a feast for the senses; it was a testament to the creativity, dedication, and collaborative spirit of the AU community. As the students reflected on their accomplishments, they left with not only a sense of pride but also with skills that will serve them well in their future careers.
The event concluded with the announcement of prizes for the best culinary creations, further inspiring the students to continue pursuing excellence in their culinary and hospitality endeavors.
