Assumption University of Thailand (AU) hosted the "Sim-Basic for Nursing Instructors" workshop, a two-day event designed to elevate nursing education through simulation-based learning. Held at the Hua-Mak Campus, the workshop brought together key professionals and educators to explore innovative methods in teaching clinical skills.
The event began with an insightful introduction to simulation-based nursing education by Dr. Werayuth Srithumsuk, Chair of INACSL Thailand RIG, outlining the integration of simulation modalities in nursing programs. this session laid the foundation for an exciting lineup of hands-on workshops and discussions.



Dr. Phat Prapawichar, Dean of the Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science, delivered an academic address, followed by opening remarks from Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka,f.s.g., Ph.D., President of AU, who reiterated the university’s commitment to enhancing healthcare education through cutting-edge methodologies.
Throughout the workshop, participants were divided into groups to focus on different simulation modalities, including hybrid, high-fidelity, moulage, and standardized patients. Each group was guided by a team of expert speakers, ensuring a well-rounded learning experience.
Captain Thitaporn Wilson, Chair of Outreach Coordination for INACSL Thailand RIG, led a session on scenario writing, followed by a workshop on pre-briefing with Asst. Prof. Dr. Onouma Thummapol, 1st Co-Chair of INACSL Thailand RIG. Dr. Thunyasiri Somkome, 2nd Co-Chair of INACSL Thailand RIG, facilitated the session on simulation assessment, providing valuable insights into evaluating student performance.




As the workshop progressed, participants engaged in scenario preparation, alpha testing, and beta testing across various clinical settings, including adult and gerontology, obstetrics, pediatrics, and psychiatric/community care. The event concluded with a reflective session, allowing participants to share their experiences and key takeaways from the simulations.
The "Sim-Basic for Nursing Instructors" workshop represents a significant milestone in the continued efforts of AU's School of Nursing Science to lead the way in healthcare education.
