Assumption University of Thailand (AU)'s Suvarnabhumi Campus was full of life and color as it celebrated the Songkran Festival. This two-day event, on April 10th and 11th, was organized by the Office of Thai Art and Culture, Student Affairs. It was part of the Thai Heritage Preservation Week and brought together students, faculty, and staff.

AU President Rev. Bro. Bancha Saenghiran shared his thoughts on the festival: "In this season of new beginnings, I warmly invite the AU family to embrace the joyous traditions of Songkran. Let's celebrate our rich heritage together. From the gentle sprinkling of water on Buddha statues to sharing laughter at our community tea party, Songkran is a time for reflection, joy, kindness, and connection."

The celebration started with a traditional ritual of sprinkling scented water onto a Buddha image. This was followed by a lively Thai Art and Crafts Fair. On the second day, the community came together for food offerings to Buddhist monks and Alms Giving. The highlight was a Thai Regional Costume Fashion Show, showcasing traditional textiles and colors.

The event ended with a soulful assembly at Sala Chaturamuk Paijit, where the community engaged in the Water-Pouring Ceremony "Rod Nam Dam Hua." This ceremony honors elders and seeks blessings for the new year. The celebration concluded with a Tea Party, where everyone connected and celebrated their community.
Everyone was encouraged to wear traditional Thai attire, keeping the spirit of Songkran alive at AU. The event was a great success, embodying the spirit of Songkran and bringing the community together in joy and tradition.
