Congratulations to Dr. Timothy Scott and Ms. Wenyu Guan on Their Q1 SCOPUS Achievement!

Assumption University of Thailand (AU) proudly celebrates the outstanding accomplishment of Dr. Timothy Scott, Senior Lecturer at the Graduate School of Human Sciences (GSHS), and his collaborator, Ms. Wenyu Guan from Guangdong Medical University, Dongguan, China, for their recent publication in the highly regarded SAGE Open (Volume 14, Issue 4).

Their article, titled "Influences on Student Outcomes at Small Thai Private Universities," has earned recognition in a Q1 SCOPUS-ranked journal, placing their work among the most impactful academic contributions worldwide.

This pioneering study investigates the critical factors influencing student success at smaller Thai private universities, often navigating challenges like limited enrollments and dependency on tuition revenue. Through a rigorous analysis of responses from 371 students, the researchers highlight the pivotal role of academic integration, institutional support, and social engagement in student persistence. Their findings underscore the importance of addressing emotional well-being and enhancing instructional quality to reduce voluntary withdrawals and institutional transfers.

Dr. Timothy Scott, a respected scholar at AU’s GSHS, is celebrated for his dedication to impactful, transformative research in education. His collaboration with Ms. Wenyu Guan, a distinguished instructor at Guangdong Medical University’s Foreign Language College, reflects the power of international academic partnerships in driving meaningful insights and solutions.

Earlier this year, the duo published in the esteemed journal Teaching and Learning in Medicine: An International Journal, further solidifying their impact on global education research.

Their article, titled "An Examination of Students’ Perspectives of Medical English Course Quality in Guangdong Medical Universities," offers profound insights into medical education, shedding light on the factors influencing course quality and its alignment with students’ expectations and academic needs. This research not only advances the field of medical education but also emphasizes the importance of tailoring language instruction to the specialized needs of medical students.

Join us in congratulating Dr. Scott and Ms. Guan on this remarkable milestone. Their success serves as an inspiration for researchers and educators worldwide.
