Leadership with Purpose: AU Welcomes Newly Appointed Vice Presidents

Assumption University of Thailand (AU) has announced several key appointments to its executive leadership team, reflecting the University’s commitment to academic excellence, student well-being, moral development, and institutional integrity. The following appointments are effective from May and June 2025, as signed by Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., Ph.D., President of Assumption University of Thailand.

Rev. Bro. Monthol Prathumarach, f.s.g., Ph.D.

Named Vice President for Special Affairs, Rev. Bro. Dr. Monthol brings decades of leadership across Gabrielite schools and the AU community. He holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and has served as Director at several institutions and as Vice President for Student Affairs. His term begins May 1, 2025 and extends until May 31, 2027.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanintorn Jittawiriyanukoon

Appointed as Vice President for Research and Academic Services, Dean of the Graduate School of Business and Advanced Technology Management (GS-BATM), and Program Director of the M.S. in Information Technology and Management, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanintorn brings more than 25 years of academic service to AU. He holds advanced degrees in Communication Engineering from Osaka University, Japan, and has contributed significantly to fields such as big data, computer vision, and network performance. His appointment is effective from May 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026.

Dr. Kitikorn Dowpiset

Appointed as Vice President for Moral Development Education and Advisor to the Graduate School of Human Sciences, Dr. Kitikorn will oversee initiatives that promote AU’s core values and student character formation. His appointment runs from May 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026.

Mr. Werasak Anusontivong

Taking on the role of Vice President for Legal and Privilege Affairs, Mr. Werasak will support the University’s legal and regulatory functions with professionalism and care. His appointment is effective from June 1, 2025 to May 31, 2027.

Acting Sub Lt. Dr. Yutthana Suwannatarn

Appointed as Vice President for Student Affairs, Acting Sub Lt. Dr. Yutthana Suwannatarn is widely admired by students, faculty, and staff alike for his unwavering dedication, kind leadership, and deep understanding of student life. Over the years, he has earned a reputation as a trusted mentor and advocate, always putting the well-being and growth of AU students at the heart of his work. In this new role, he will lead student engagement, support services, and campus life initiatives with the same energy and empathy that have made him one of the most beloved figures at the University. His appointment begins on June 1, 2025 and is tenable until May 31, 2026.
