Assumption University of Thailand (AU) expresses its deepest condolences on the passing of Thanin Kraivichien, the 14th Prime Minister of Thailand and former president of the Privy Council of Thailand. Thanin, a distinguished legal scholar and dedicated public servant, passed away on Sunday at the age of 97.
Thanin Kraivichien was widely respected for his integrity and unwavering commitment to the nation. His contributions to Thai law and governance, as well as his role in shaping the country’s legal framework, remain a lasting legacy. Appointed Prime Minister during a crucial period in Thailand’s history, he later served as a trusted advisor to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great as a member of the Privy Council.
The AU community joins the nation in mourning the loss of an esteemed leader and scholar. His dedication to justice and national service will continue to inspire generations of students, academics, and professionals in Thailand and beyond.
The University extends its heartfelt sympathies to his family and loved ones during this time of loss.
