The seminar featured experts from Digital Media Lab (DML), a leading Japanese company known for its cutting-edge CG and animation work on globally acclaimed games and entertainment projects. What is a CG + Animation Portfolio? A CG + Animation Portfolio is a curated collection showcasing an animator or computer graphics artist’s best work. It demonstrates their skills, creativity, and technical expertise, often used to impress potential employers, clients, or academic institutions. Key components of a strong portfolio include:
Animation Reels: Short video clips of completed 2D and 3D animations.
Storyboards or Concept Art: Examples of narrative and pre-production skills.
Character Design: Original designs that highlight creativity.
Technical Work: Rigging, modeling, texturing, or compositing examples.
Diverse Projects: A range of styles, genres, or media to show versatility.
Project Descriptions: Explanations of techniques, tools used, and contributions.
Professional Presentation: Organized layouts on a personal website or portfolio platform.

As a 3D Animator at Digital Media Lab, she has contributed to high-profile international projects, showcasing the world-class education and training provided by AU. Yely’s success is a testament to the talent and dedication nurtured at the university. Her achievements inspire current students to aim high and pursue their passions in the global animation industry.

Each speaker shared practical insights into crafting a standout portfolio, focusing on creativity, technical skills, and personal style. Attendees gained a clear understanding of what it takes to excel in the competitive world of animation and CG.
DML’s contributions to high-profile projects, including blockbuster games, cinematic sequences, and commercial CG productions, were also highlighted. Their studios in Tokyo and Osaka serve as innovation hubs, attracting top talent globally.
