On February 13, 2025, the Louis Nobiron School of Music hosted an inspiring seminar titled "How Music Heals Mental Illness" at Martin Hall, 24th Floor, CL Building, Assumption University of Thailand (AU) , Suvarnabhumi Campus. The event welcomed an enthusiastic audience eager to learn about the transformative power of music in mental health care.
The keynote speaker, Ms. Netchanok Singhey, a trailblazing Medical Music Therapist from the Department of Family Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, captivated the attendees with her insights and expertise. As a pioneer in integrating music therapy within Thailand's public health system, Ms. Singhey is dedicated to establishing specialized music therapy suites in hospitals, meeting stringent healthcare standards.
Her professional expertise spans multiple medical disciplines, including family medicine, palliative care, oncology, pediatrics, and pain management. Through tailored music therapy services, she aims to contribute significantly to holistic patient care and well-being.


Drawing from her vast experience, she shared compelling stories and research findings that highlighted how music can act as a therapeutic tool to address various mental health challenges, from anxiety to depression. Ms. Singhey's engaging presentation blended science with art, showcasing case studies and live demonstrations of music therapy techniques. Her passion for music and its healing potential resonated deeply with the audience, creating an atmosphere of inspiration and hope. Participants were encouraged to reflect on the role of music in their own lives and how it could contribute to emotional well-being.
The seminar also provided an opportunity for interactive discussions, with students and faculty members engaging in meaningful conversations about integrating music therapy into healthcare practices.
