The Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science (BLNS) at Assumption University of Thailand (AU) proudly hosted the BLNS Overseas Internship Program 2024 from July 1 to August 6. Chaired by Dr. Chavalee Boonto, this initiative sought to fortify international collaboration, broaden the global exposure of faculty members and students, and expand academic networking through an immersive internship experience.
The program welcomed eight Taiwanese nursing students from Hungkuang University, Taichung, under the supervision of Assistant Prof. Dr. Li-Chiu Lin. The participating students were: Ms. Hsieh Pei-Hua, Ms. Hsu Yun-Jung, Ms. Chang Shu-Yin, Ms. Pan Ya-Ci, Ms. Huang Yu-Pei, Ms. Huang Shiu-Hsuan, Ms. Chuang Yu-Shian, and Ms. Lin Tzu-Yu.
"This internship program exemplifies our commitment to nurturing global nursing leaders through cross-cultural experiences and international collaboration. We are proud to host these talented students and contribute to their professional growth.", said Ajarn Chavalee.
Throughout the program, students engaged in a variety of teaching-learning activities, including both theoretical instruction and clinical practicum in healthcare settings and communities. Additionally, cultural exposure activities were integral, offering students a holistic experience of Thailand’s rich cultural heritage.
On August 6, the program culminated with a presentation of the students' work to AU faculty members. Following the presentations, Dr. Phat Prapawichar, Dean of BLNS, provided comments and suggestions before delivering certificates of completion to each participant. Assistant Prof. Dr. Onouma Thummapol, Associate Dean, also shared her insights and feedback.
Distinguished attendees at the event included Dr. Vindhai Cocracul, Former AU Vice President for Academic Affairs, alongside Dr. Pimsiri Bhusiri, Dr. Prapawan Praevanich, Dr. Supa Pudkasam, and Dr. Naree Achwarin, all of whom contributed to the enriching academic environment.
This program underscores BLNS's commitment to fostering international academic partnerships and enhancing the professional development of nursing students globally.
