On Wednesday, November 27, 2024, Assumption University of Thailand (AU)'s Louis Nobiron School of Music hosted a captivating Gypsy Jazz concert featuring the acclaimed band Swing Dude. The event, held in CL2401, attracted students, faculty, and music enthusiasts, offering a rare glimpse into the world of Gypsy Jazz—a genre not commonly showcased in Thailand.
Swing Dude, an energetic five-piece ensemble comprising two gypsy guitars, a double bass, drums, and a saxophonist/vocalist, delivered an electrifying performance. Their setlist combined intricate guitar solos, soulful saxophone melodies, and infectious rhythms, captivating the audience from start to finish. The concert underscored the School of Music's commitment to cultural and musical diversity, providing the AU community with an unforgettable experience that celebrated the universal language of music.
