On August 29, 2024, Assumption University of Thailand (AU)’ s Suvarnabhumi campus opened its doors to a group of students and teachers from Asahijuku Chuto Kyouiku Gakko (Asahijuku Secondary School), a private school nestled in the mountains of Okayama, Japan. The visit was part of the Overseas Thai Culture Tour for Japanese Students program, designed to share Thai traditions and build strong cultural connections.

Asahijuku Secondary School is known for creating a diverse learning environment that enriches the educational experiences of both Japanese and foreign students. With a strong emphasis on active learning and critical thinking, their dedicated teachers aim to prepare students to become leaders in the 21st Century.

The day began with a warm welcome from the Department of Business Japanese , Theodore Maria School of Arts at AU, setting the stage for a day filled with discovery and learning. The students were then taken on a tour of the campus, where they admired the unique blend of modern architecture and traditional Thai elements.

A highlight of the visit was an interactive session where Thai and Japanese students participated in traditional games and cultural activities. This hands-on experience allowed the visitors to immerse themselves in Thai customs while also sharing aspects of their own culture.

The Japanese visitors were also treated to a performance of Thai classical dance and music by AU students. The graceful dances and melodic tunes gave them a deeper appreciation for Thailand’s rich cultural heritage.
